People drown in the Mediterranean, have to live in inhumane camps or are prevented by force from applying for asylum. This is now everyday life at the European external borders. But of course this is no coincidence, because instead of human rights and solidarity, the EU states are focusing on deterrence and isolation in their migration policy.

Speaker: Erik Marquardt is a Green MEP and has been dealing with the situation at the external borders for years. He will report on the situation on the ground and classify it politically.
