The "Alternative for Germany (AfD)" and the social question
📅 23.06.21 ⌚ 6pm 📌 online 💬 German
Within a few years, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has managed to establish itself in the German party system. Its programme includes agitation against migrants and refugees, the fight against women's rights and discrimination against people with disabilities, homosexuals and transgender people, as well as the exclusion of the socially disadvantaged. Despite its neo-liberal programme, the party has been successful above all among those who are particularly affected by radical market restructuring measures.
Stefan Dietl (author of "Die AfD und die soziale Frage") takes a closer look at what demands the AfD actually advocates in economic and social policy and what devastating effects their implementation might have.
