After the bombing of his family's chocolate factory, Tareq Hadhad, a Syrian refugee, faces the challenges of settling into a small town in Nova Scotia. Despite his dreams of becoming a doctor, his father, Issam, insists on focusing on survival, leading them to rebuild their chocolate business. Unexpectedly, their endeavor becomes a sensation, and Tareq is thrust into the role of business manager. He must now choose between the demands of the growing business and an opportunity to pursue his medical studies. Meanwhile, they face challenges from a rival chocolatier and carry the weight of their sister left behind in Syria. Amidst it all, Tareq is supported by a diverse community, but tensions between father and son threaten to tear the family apart.
