"WORD UP!" Rap and poetry against racism & discrimination
📅 24.06. ⌚ 4-8pm 📌 Anarres (indoor), Mähringer Weg 75, 89075 Ulm 💬 German
"WASEEM by WORD UP! with an interactive workshop on the topic of hip-hop & anti-racism.
Hip-hop culture is a global, very diverse and political (youth) movement in which socially/structurally disadvantaged people can speak out, raise their voices and make themselves heard. Therefore, hip hop can be understood as an anti-racist empowerment and political movement. Through the history of hip hop we can learn a lot about anti-racism and decolonisation and in the WORD UP! workshops rappers and poetry slammers can make social conflicts and disadvantages visible with their stories - WORD UP!
In the workshop, participants will be given the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences / their personal dealings with their own experiences of discrimination, their own privileges, their own social positioning or other socio-political issues and to put these thoughts into text form. Whether rap or poetry. It's your choice. And very important: NO previous knowledge is necessary! Whether you are an absolute beginner or a rap superstar in the charts, you are welcome! In the best case, we can all learn a lot from each other - each one teaches one!
Finally, there will be a live concert by Waseem.
Non-alcoholic beverages will be available on site for a donation.
Please note, change: At Anarres you need a current negative rapid test. The proof will be checked at the beginning. If you couldn't get yourself tested, we'll have rapid tests there.
(No 2G+ regulation anymore, just negative tested.)
Max. 15 teenagers and young people. Registration requested (no deadline anymore) to: fclr.anmeldung[at]uni-ulm.de
