Respect, acceptance and shaping the future!
An empowerment workshop for people confronted with racism.

The pandemic and the Ukraine conflict illustrate social prejudices and structural inequalities. While EU states have been praised for a culture of solidarity in welcoming and accepting refugee Ukrainians, reporters have documented inhumane treatment at EU border crossings of international students from Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East who have also fled Ukraine.   

In this country, too, students who have fled and helpers report that the willingness to help does not automatically include them and that they experience discrimination, mistrust, and racism when seeking shelter and support, experiences that many BPoC living here also have.  

The question is, how can we use these experiences as a basis for change to establish a welcoming culture in society in which all people can participate with equal opportunities? How can we anchor empathy and appreciation of diversity in society? And how can we support each other, because especially in challenging times, cohesion is important.  

Therefore, with this workshop, we want to empower people from different communities, network, and give them space to exchange in order to become strong ambassadors for sustainable, global justice, peace, respect and acceptance together. 

This workshop is aimed at young people and adults BIPoC and with migration / flight / racism experience.
