The closure of the Balkan route has been causing unthinkable suffering for years. A focal point of the resulting humanitarian catastrophe is in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Serious human rights violations are committed there daily inside & outside the EU border.

The documentary film "Europa, Kannst Du Mich Sehen?" deals with the precarious situation of refugees from different perspectives, recontextualises the images of the state of emergency and thus operates outside the usual media representations.

It tells us from 9 perspectives what is going on at the Croatian-Bosnian EU external border and demonstrates the devastating consequences of European or Austrian refugee policy.

The director tells the story from her feminist-Marxist perspective and chooses the voice of a woman as the narrator.

The perspectives that she critically juxtaposes in the film are a wake-up call to all those who understand “human rights” as self-evident European values.

After the documentary, a talk with the regisseur, Katharina Simunic, takes place.
