Postcolonial structures of exploitation in global trade and what we can do about it

Stinginess is cool - many foods, textiles or furniture are produced under inhumane conditions in countries that used to be colonies. Oppression and exploitation, but also dangerous working conditions and child labour are still on the daily agenda, so that the goods can be offered cheaply in our country. That is why a supply chain law is currently being discussed at European level, which is supposed to protect workers.

Andreas Brieger from the Brussels office of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and Christian Wimberger from the Christian Initiative Romero assess the planned regulations and suggest what else can be done.

Andreas and Christian will participate virtually, so we have chosen a Zoom conference.

Incooperation with: Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund Kreisverband Ulm/Alb-Donau & DGB-Jugend.

The letcure will take place via zoom.
